Music Opportunities

Chancel Choir:

This choir practices on Thursdays from 7:15 PM for about 1-½ hours. Childcare is provided. It meets in the Choir Room in the lower level of the church.

This choir sings weekly on Sundays, often at both the 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM services, through Pentecost Sunday.

It prides itself on using different styles of music and uses both pipe organ and piano accompaniments.

 

Summer Choir:

A pick-up choir will be singing on July 17, August 7, and August 28. Come at 8:00 AM for rehearsal of an easy anthem and sing at both 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM services.

 

Handbell Choir:

Known as the “Joyful Ringers”, this group consists of 10-12 ringers, depending on music and availability. It practices on Thursdays from 6:15-7:15 PM in Room B-3 and performs monthly September through May.

Small groups (ensembles) are sometimes utilized, as well.

Childcare is available during rehearsals. Please contact Marge Grahm at the church (244-7656), if interested in ringing.

 

Children’s and Youth Choirs:

“Cheerful Notes”—for 4-year-olds through second grade. It sings on the average of once monthly during the school year and practices on Sundays from 4:00-4:30 PM in Room B-1.

“Jam Choir”—for ages second through fifth grades. It sings on the average of once monthly during the school year and practices on Sundays from 4:00-4:30 PM in the choir room.

“Youth Choir”—sixth through twelfth grades. It sings every 4 weeks or so and practices from 5:00-5:30 PM on Sundays in the Choir Room”

 

Special Events:

Adult Programs—Occasionally there are opportunities for special musical presentations at Christmas or during Lent.

Youth Programs— Each spring is the Children’s musical. It involves all ages of young people. Rehearsals start after Christmas.
